What is NIASPAN®?

NIASPAN® (niacin extended-release tablets) is a prescription medication used along with diet and exercise that helps raise the level of HDL cholesterol in your blood. Niacin, the active ingredient in NIASPAN in combination with another cholesterol medication* has also been shown to slow the build up or even regress the plaque that builds up on the walls of arteries in patients who have a history of this problem and high LDL cholesterol ** (the "bad cholesterol").1 In addition, niacin has been shown to reduce the chance of having a second heart attack in patients with a prior history of heart attack.

NIASPAN has the most effect on HDL cholesterol, and it also lowers your LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

NIASPAN has been reformulated in extended-release, coated tablets
